Math One: Heavier/Lighter Learning Outcomes Students will be expected to: 1. Identify the heavier object. 2. Identify the lighter object. Activity This activity will require a balance scale, a selection objects of various masses, and a spinner with heavier/lighter marked on it. Working in groups of two, one child selects an object then spins to determine whether the challenge will be to find a heavier or lighter object. The partner then chooses an object from the selection of objects that they feel will meet the challenge. The children place the objects on the balance scale to check the challenge. Assessment 1. Ask the children to explain how they went about the task. 2. Ask the children to arrange the object from heaviest to lightest.
