Cross the Stream


Learning Outcomes

Students will:
  • Identify numerals 0-19.

Activity

  • Label some paper stone cut-outs with the numarls 0-19.
  • Arrange randomly to suggest a stepping-stone bridge across a stream.
  • Ask class to chant the numerals slowly from 0-19.
  • As numbers are called out, have a child step on the appropriate stone.
  • If the steps on an incorrect stone - oops! He or she has fallen in.
  • This game can be played with 2 teams, with a point given for each successful crossing.
