• Have students bring to school their own collections (for example - stickers, trading cards etc.)

• Encourage students to count their collections and put them in groups of 10's with any extra "leftover"

• Have students work in pairs to determine how many items they would have if they combined their collections.

• Have students write an equation that shows the result of combining their collections.
